Founded in 1879, EHM Senior Solutions is a not-for-profit, full service health and human service organization that provides health care, housing and community services to older adults and their families in Southeast Michigan. Today, EHM is one of the largest non-profits of its kind, in metro Detroit and one of the oldest in the state, serving more than 5,500 older adults and their extended families annually.

EHM remains grounded in tradition to care for the underserved and has provided $11.5 million in charitable care over the past five years. EHM has been consistently recognized for its leadership and innovation over the years, and was named one of Michigan’s top 25 workplaces by the Detroit Free Press.

EHM Senior Solutions is eager to partner with a new Manager of Business Development to market and promote our full continuum of services in the Washtenaw County area. Engaging in activities designed to promote EHM’s Services to potential referral sources and the community with an overall goal of building recognition of the divisions.

Job Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Develop and nurture relationships with referring agencies, physicians, discharge planners, and other community organizations to promote referrals amongst all divisions of EHM Senior Solutions.
  • Work closely with all non-clinical and clinical personnel to ensure good communication and the successful transition of clients between divisions.
  • Maintain an effective marketing plan to promote the organization.
  • Maintain open communication with Executive Directors of all appropriate business units to ensure training of all market changes, competitor actions, and marketing/sales activities.
  • Assist in the planning and implementation of special events within the facilities and in the greater community to advance community relations and referral development.
  • Possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.
  • Must be familiar with the laws, regulations, and guidelines governing the release of information.
  • Must have patience, tact, cheerful disposition and enthusiasm, as well as be willing to handle residents based on whatever maturity level they are currently functioning.
  • Must be able to seek out new methods and principles and be willing to incorporate them into existing practices.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Minimum 2 years sales experience in a healthcare or service related field. Specific skill in post-acute care sales is preferred.
  • Demonstrated presentation and communication skills.
  • Additional education beyond high school is preferred with a preference for health care concentration or any combination of education and experience.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license, car insurance and vehicle for private business use.
  • Must possess a thorough knowledge of principles of effective communication, sales technique, mass media, advertising, policies, education, community relations, demonstration, organization structure, social and activity services, government relations, etc.
